• Teacher - I have been teaching theatre for over eight years primarily at the college level, but I also work with high school and younger children. Classes I’ve taught
include:
• Acting (beginning, intermediate, Shakespeare and period) I am trained in and teach Stanislavski and Meisner techniques, movement and voice.
• Directing (I, II, and senior projects)
• Theatre History (I, II)
• Dramatic Literature (I, II)
• The Modernization of Shakespeare
• August Wilson’s cycle plays and the African American Experience in the 20th Century
• Theatre Appreciation and Introduction to Theatre
Actor/Singer (who can dance) – After many years of acting, voice and dance training in college and beyond, I performed for both professional and community theatres throughout the United States and in Europe.
Director – I began my directing career in graduate school and have since directed many college, high school, and community productions.
Theatre Historian – I hold a PhD in theatre history, dramaturgy, theory and criticism. Although I’m versed in all genres, my expertise is in Restoration Comedy of Manners, August Wilson, and Shakespeare.
Dramaturg – I’ve served as a research, production and new play dramaturg.
Management – As head of a college theatre program for two years, I managed all theatre spaces and budget. I greatly expanded the program and accumulated positive account balances in ticket sales and donations.
